Making Christmas Memories {2}
1) Musik-Ness
I've always loved this song, but I do think this is my favorite rendition... the piano.. ah, everything pulls it together... pure peace.
It always strikes me as beautiful that Mary would be afraid when learning of the next several years of her life... but then says, "I am the L-rd's servant," anyways. This song talks about how she is nervous, scared at points, but is counting on G-d to keep her under His wings.
2) Adore: The Bright Morning Star
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am... the bright morning star." -Revelation 22:16.
Whenever I see a full moon, I come up with a word that describes my day adaquately. When I see a sparkling star, I remember the famous star that the three wise-men followed to find the baby Jesus... and wonder, and wish, just how big that star was?
How incredible it would be, to just look up in the sky one night, and see a star so bright, so beautiful... and know that the promised Messiah was sent? In Matthew 2:2, they asked King Herod, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him." On a clear night, it's fun, and brings a great sense of peace to see all the bright stars in the sky. Some are brighter than others... and G-d knows all their names...
In the Bible, the word "star" doesn't just describe the lights we see at night; it can describe spiritual beings like angels. The Bible also uses the word "star" to represent a prince or ruler.
A book called The Perfect Star by John Bibee (7th in The Spirit Flyer Series) tells us about a girl named Tiffany, how she has everything going for her (she's beautiful, the most popular, talented, etc.) but there is always something missing inside. When an exciting opportunity comes to town to shoot a movie, Tiffany has the major shot at the starring part... but after many hardships, and her meeting of the true King, she sees that she is not the perfect star- that there is only one star, and "I know it's You."
One of {my favorite} names of Jesus is the Bright Morning Star. He promises that all who follow Him will have the morning star shining in their hearts when He returns to earth {Revelation 2:28; 1 Peter 1:19}. I want to follow the Bright Morning Star by seeking Him, worshipping Him, walking in the light of His glory and truth, and by serving Him with my whole heart. Only then will I find eternal joy.
