Desert Layering

I always say there's an art to dressing for desert winters. Roundabout November, the desert nights start getting cold - for a desert person. We go from eighty degrees in the mornings, but in the evenings, it hits maybe fifty degrees. And of course, no one wants to go home to change from morning to evening, so half the time I carry around a sweater, a coat, and a hat in my trunk just in case.

When we went exploring in Joshua Tree, the high desert, I was thankful I had them. Five hours earlier I was wearing a crop top. By the time five o' clock hit the high desert, it was windy and freezing.

What's your November like?

from ten o' clock ... to five o' clock
