Children of Summer {Portraits}
I'd interrupted their play. "Five minutes?" I pleaded. They consented. Seated seriously outside, I asked them to, "crack a smile? No?" They looked at me, and glanced at each other, almost uncomprehendingly. Mischeviousness winked his green eyes. But once the laughter started, it rolled-- no, it poured-- forth, beautifully, uncontrollably.
I know these two well. They are children of summer to the very core of their souls...
