Top Ten Christmas Movies

Welcome to...the last twelve days before Christmas!

For those of you who know me, I'm actually a Christmas nut in disguise, so I decided I was going to do twelve Christmas posts leading up to the big day (plus I've been so excited for Christmas that I actually started writing this series in July. Maybe a touch too early?) As much as I love Christmas, I can only do it once a year (blame it on these year-round summers). Maybe it's the season, but that late November + December vibe just makes everything more cozy: the colors, the warm spirit, the festivities and parties and friends back in town.

And I always love a good background movie playing at any of the above said parties or celebrations to put everyone in the mood.

Not going to lie, it was more than likely all the cute movies that kept popping up on Hallmark Channel's 'Christmas in July,' most of which I did admittedly watch for a few brief moments each before changing the channel. I find sitting down to watch a movie is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit, since no holiday has ever been covered in film in so many ways as December 25th. So in no particular order, and just to kick the final twelve days off in the spirit of things, my top ten Christmas movies.

Home Alone

Little Women (1994 version)

Elf

While You Were Sleeping

Home Alone 2

It's a Wonderful Life

The Polar Express

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Charlie Brown's Christmas

White Christmas

It was actually rather difficult to narrow the list down to just ten as there are so many amazing (if a little cheesy) films out there, but you know. What are your favorite holiday films? I'm always looking to add to the idea collection!

cheers,
