ntering the above Nela's photo challenge. If you don't already follow her blog, I would highly recommend it. :)
Portraiture
has to be my favorite-ever theme of photography. Being able to capture that moment in a person's soul is a lovely feeling...honestly, a gift from G-d. This particular photo challenge, I asked myself, why do the above three photos appeal to me? The first is a photo I snapped during a mini-session at our local park. It's not my best work. There are several adjustments that could be made. Nothing is special to the outside observer. I suppose it was just the opportunity I was able to use in the moment... the joy captured on her face makes me smile. The latter... I think the beauty of this comes not only in my sister's beautiful face. I remember what a fabulous autumn day it was. How the sun was just setting and set her hair on fire for this photo. Her beautiful smile and freckles. The only thing I adjusted was the lighting (and I added my water-mark as well). It could seem like another potrait photo. But there's just so much more to it than meets the eye.
And to leave with you with a new favorite quote of mine:
“Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
